Single Diluent Inflator with ADV Shutoff Valve (for BMCL)
Important Information
All of the AP Swivel Inflators (with shutoff) are supplied with a new Flowstop (GC3R - shown above) which differs from a regular AP GC3 Flowstop in that the OPEN/CLOSE slider is reversed.
This configuration is recommended by AP for several reasons: first, it makes closing the valve a positive pull-up action and second, if the locking strap gets accidentally dislodged the valve ‘fails-open’ in the open position rather than closed.
Note: If you prefer to have the slider OPEN/CLOSE the other way, it is simple to change but care needs to be taken, with adherence to oxygen-clean practices, when rebuilding. See the GC3 Maintenance Manual.
Why can't I purchase this?
As a responsible CCR manufacturer, it has always been our policy to only sell complete rebreathers or CCR spare parts to trained divers with an appropriate level, AP rebreather-specific, qualification from one of the recognised Rebreather Training Agencies. RBV07/SO/35S - Single Diluent Inflator with ADV Shutoff Valve (for BMCL)
The Single Diluent Inflator with GC3 (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve allows the ADV to be quickly and easily isolated on Inspiration rebreathers with back mounted counterlungs (BMCL).
It allows the ADV to be easily isolated after the initial descent, for example if the diver prefers to control the diluent manually during the middle section of the dive.
Kit includes:
- Inflator unit
- GC3R Flowstop* shutoff valve with RB70/25 locking strap
- RB20/36 Flowstop to ADV Hose
- AP35S low profile BMCL inlet elbow
*Please Note: as of January 2020 the GC3R features a chromed slider (shown above) rather than the original black slider
Upgrade for existing owners:
The Diluent Inflator with GC3 (Flowstop) can be retrofitted to all existing Inspirations with BMCL. The diver can use their existing hoses if they swap around the one feeding into the counterlung so that the knurled female connection end attaches to the new inflator block outlet and the 3/8th UNF male connector attaches to the new AP35S low profile inlet elbow (included) which replaces the current counterlung inlet elbow.
NOTE: You will also need a LP Port Plug to fit to the diluent manifold to replace the Manifold to ADV Hose which has been removed.
A single inflator with shut-off is also available for the Oxygen side as a Solenoid shutoff (see RBV07A/SO/35S) or with a double swivel diluent inflator block (see RBV07/DUAL/SO/35S).
Other Swivel Inflator options:
AP have designed a complete range of swivel inflators with different functions. These options can also be retro-fitted or ordered with a new unit. The options are:
Single Swivel Inflators - A single inflator block with a rotating inlet block which can swivel through 360 degrees to allow different hose routing possibilities for onboard or offboard gas. Available for both oxygen (RBV07A/35S) and diluent (RBV07/35S).
Dual Swivel Inflators - A dual inflator block with two rotating inlet ports to allow two independent gas sources - e.g. onboard and offboard - to be plugged into a single inflator block at the same time. Available for both oxygen (RBV07A/DUAL/35S) and diluent (RBV07/DUAL/35S).
Dual Swivel Inflators with GC3 (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve - (for either oxygen or diluent) - includes both the GC3 and the relevant hose to either the solenoid or ADV. In this model the top swivel inlet block features both an inlet and an outlet. A GC3 shutoff valve sits in-line after this outlet which allows the diver to quickly and easily isolate the solenoid (oxygen side) or ADV (diluent side).
This combines all the advantages offered by both the Dual Inflator and the Inflator with Shutoff Valve described above. See RBV07/DUAL/SO/35S (for diluent version) and the RBV07A/DUAL/SO/35S (for oxygen version).
Single Oxygen Inflator with GC3 (Flowstop) Shutoff Valve - includes a hose from the Flowstop to the Solenoid inlet. See RBV07A/SO/35S. It allows the Solenoid to be easily isolated.
RBV07/SO/35S - Single Diluent Inflator with ADV Shutoff Valve (for BMCL)
